Very basic 3D models of the environment- Foyer, hallway and dinning room ( Just a mock up, not the finalised design).
These are the first batch of renders soem of them are graining and dark but after the adjusting the settings of ambient occlusion, the renders are better.
For my honours project, I will be creating a game set design that supports the delivery of the narrative. This consists of looking at the aspects involved in set dressing: lighting, camera, colour palette, props and sound effects, and explore how each aspect help deliver the story by varying the emphasis on the aspects in different parts of the final product. For the narrative, I have decided to use an existing story rather than creating one from scratch. The story I will be using for this project is Beauty and the Beast and I intend to base it on the original or Robin Mckinley’s version and not Disney’s. However, having said that, initial visual research will be based on Disney’s animation. The end product will be an interactive piece where the set dressing will help deliver the story of Beauty and the Beast.
Previous Project Ideas:
1. Creating a combine 2D and 3D game. Playing with the two different perspective and how both can be incorporated into gameplay.
2.Create 2D and 3D animation.
3.Create interactive customization game/application, much like Sims but more detailed and focused on interior. Utilising the grid system in Maya for size/measurement.
